No one genuinely enjoys being obese. They might make peace with it for a while but EVENTUALLY they get tired of the front. You literally just look and feel better slimmer.

Look at the record - Monique, Jennifer Hudson, Missy Elliot, Adele, etc. Zero surprise that she finally hopped on the wagon too.

a lot of times the whole "large and in charge!" mess is simply a defense mechanism

and the flip side of that is people constantly making self-deprecating jokes and comments about their weight. laughing at themselves before others can do it. (which is understandable)

there's a certain danger in making your weight your identity. having this attachment to it as if it's something that is in stone and unmovable.

the moment someone truly realizes that weight is something that is well within their control (whether it goes up or down), they will feel empowered.

not just HEAR it ...cliche slogans like "u can do it!" "less calories more exercise!"

but KNOW that they call the shots and the body is simply following their lead. 

IMO this will also replace self-pity with a strengthened sense of accountability
