They aren't. When Brandy does it, it sounds like how a kaleidoscope looks

i agree with this and that's not always a good thing imo.  I prefer Beyonce's tbh. The parts are still CLEAR and not muddy up. Also it's not just a bunch of coos. Sometimes I worry that I'm over Brandy musically because I don't really like her style atp.

I disagree.  I don't think her stacks/layers are too much. It's the effects and the mixing that make it sound muddled.  Beyonce's backgrounds are just as intricate/layered, but have better mixing, in my opinion.

There's definitely a clarity piece missing with her stacks and leads.

It was very evident on B7 and the Xmas album where a lot of songs sounded dull and muffled. I think that's how she likes it for whatever reason.

I agree. She needs a team of people to guide her musically and vocally a bit.  Brandy is really a people pleaser lowkey and she gets so much PRAISE over the stacks and shit so now i think she just leans into that because she thinks its what people want from her
