nicki speaking at the united nations was performative and she is being blatantly used as a prop, in addition to not being versed on what's actually happening in nigeria. and it's disheartening that a segment of our community refuses to see how detrimental this is to us because they are fans that refuse to hold her accountable in any way. this isn't unique tho. unfortunately our community is notorious for ignoring, excusing, and justifying bad and harmful behavior of celebrities. but the history and legacy of these artists will speak louder than the current (temporary) fandom. but maybe she doesn't care about that. i wouldn't be surprised if she didn't.
