!!!!!

I agree and the momentum felt great when TAOL dropped too. I hated how ppl didn't want to get into the music b/c it wasn't with Rodney... this album has some of the best work of her career

Also, her team dropped the ball by not putting her and Kanye on the BET Awards main stage

WIS2U is a great song/single and I always had a mix review of the video. It wasn't bad but wasn't what I expected for it (I do agree I wish Brandy would've kept some of that post-pregnancy weight for this era too)

Although, personally I feel like I Tried or Come As U Are should've came as the 2nd single for where the radio was in 2004... I Tried was her "Cry Me A River" and they should've invested some bread behind it to push the album

Afrodisiac
I Tried
TAOL
WIS2U

I think this should've been the singles order.

Brandy gon always get them singles wrong. I didn't have an issue with the singles from afro but I definitely feel like say you will should've been released as a beautiful ballad. I never thought about I Tried but that would've been great too. I feel like that's why brandy doesn't have more BLACK WOMEN fans like Monica does. She doesn't feed that demo enough
This is my pass to say WHATEVER tf I wanna say about the mess she releases so I don't wanna hear SHIT! Baby mama is a mess of a song btw

The song Afro should've been given a big budget and push bc it has hit written all over it. That as a lead would've made a big splash since it would've easily fit with hits at the time. I Tried has such a big sound and would've been to release at the time as the album. TAOL shortly after with Kanye would've reignited more interest after release and then WIS2U to close out the era and maybe even a fifth single.

Zactly! Say You Will was an immediate fav when I heard the album and would've been an amazing single even radio one at best. That and I Tried are female anthems for two different reasons... WIS2U was too but I feel like WIS2U would've worked best as a 1st single... something to attack and kick the era off to set the tone & vibe the album was gonna be on

Afrodisiac (the song) needed a big budget Hype Williams video for sure to sell that type of record... something like Jay-Z's Big Pimpin video, at a carnival, Caribbean or South America location, beautiful Black women & men just dancing, sensuality, colors, sun, sweat, and having a good time. A male love interest of like a Tyson Beckford looking dude tryna pursue her too

And again Brandy would've needed to keep them new mami titties she had at the '02 VMAs.

Afrodisiac is a terrible song. If that was a first single I would've thrown the album away RIGHT away. That song was released over in the UK because that's more a UK vibe. That's not a US song

You're listening with 2026 ears. It was perfect for 2004

I hated it even more then.  The only reason I kinda like it now is live performances.  It isn't a good single AT ANY POINT! I hate they wasted any money on it at all when they could've pushed a 3rd single over here

I liked TAOL and loved the video but something about it feels off as a lead single. The dark aesthetic of the video, the key of song is too low, the beat is good but sounds muffled and doesn't give Brandy room to do "her" - except for that one run towards the end.

Good song but should have been the second single after AFRO.

I don't think the video concept was bad I think the way it was filmed was. I def agree, Hype would have had her looking like a million bucks...instead of drowning in a shallow pool with a bad wig.
