So because I am gay, I have to be in support of this show?

absolutely not but you don't have to put it down for another show to focus on positive black life either. They are not in relation to one another.
how is it not bby?
we have issues in this country.. and being black is one of them.. just like being trans is another one..
and being brutal to animals.. and a host of other things..
but there arent any shows uplifting blacks.. nor bringing awareness to the perception that whites have of us..
or the police brutality that we face every single day..
.

There two different issues. They don't share the same platform. Caitlyn being a celebrity first and foremost is the reason why it's on the air.

And I agree you that there should be uplifting programs highlighting problems in the black community. But is the E! Network really the place to do that? You want to take issues with our celebs who choose to call people ghostwriters on Twitter or BET for not showing enough programs like that. I think we'll agree to disagree on this baby. And this doesn't make me anti-black either but I am recognizing that we could focus on more than one issue at hand and that we shouldn't subvert one for the other either.

1. If there was no attention paid to Caitlyn or any other transgendered person, racism would still get the same treatment. The source of the issue is being missed.

2. In case you all weren't aware, there are black transgendered people. There's this thing called intersectionality.

oh yes this is true. My bby

Like Bobbi Kris picked this week to die so she could outshine Sandra? :diddraispoot:
