Malcolm didn't do me any favors because I didn't feel that you looking into your heritage and so forth was annoying. People should be proud of you for doing something that is worthwhile to you as a human being and as a person. I guess I see it differently because I'm older and can see the importance of why you're doing this. It should inspire others to do it as well. Self-discovery is a good thing.

I was too busy singing and rapping about trade to care about my grandmother's ancestral origins. But once you start getting older you begin searching for answers to things. And you begin to evaluate yourself more, question more things about you. You become a lot more critical in your thinking. Everything doesn't seem so "simple".

seeing this just makes me happy I didn't go in depth when I went on my ancestry trip cause I was really excited and wanted to tell everyone about it too, but I was afraid people would misconstrue it as me trying to give "Mixed!" so I didn't talk about it as much as I wanted, but this whole ordeal is making me see I made the right decision.
