I honestly dont recognize faith as a legend, icon, etc anyway tho
she's kinda in the vein of a monica to me. She had some nice songs but MEH! Faith can sing tho, i'll give her that
This is my pass to say WHATEVER tf I wanna say about the mess she releases so I don't wanna hear SHIT! Baby mama is a mess of a song btw

I've always thought about like this.

R&B Legends: Mary, Toni, Robert, Brandy, Usher - the commercial success and industry respect speaks for itself.

Icons: Faith, Tyrese, Fantasia, Tank, Dru Hill, Joe - people that had a lot of success back in the day and still book an Urban AC hit here and there. Revered for their talents and still tour a lot.

then you have your KeKe Wyatts, Avants, Monifah's etc

wheres monica?

"I love you" and "soon as I get home" ALONE

Omg :dead:

!!!!

I don't care how many songs he sings back up for Keke on. They ain't in the same league
ssdddddd I literally have never followed her or her career and those songs are fucking infectious. True classics

You can't help but sing along. She's honestly a legend and numbers aren't a great way to gauge her impact at all. She's unique in that way to me

Aside from her hits and music, Faith is just memorable. In general.

going by what he said, Monica is an R&B icon/Staple

I wouldn't argue against that

Faith . alone by being known as the alternative Mary J. Blige is already up there. You think of Bran, Mary, and Faith will pop up in your head immediately.

Avant does not even sound right next to R. Kelly, Usher, Ginuwine, Boyz II Men and them...

but baph thanks for posting that pic and showing that Avant had a r&b hit in 2015 which is why I said he was still semi relevant. You guys are confusing your preference with what's what. Dru Hill and DEFINITELY not no damn carl thomas are making hit songs in 2015-16, so i can see why he would wanna be top billing.............but dru are definitely the bigger artists, i have to say

And honestly, if she has remained more visible between eras she would be a legend, but that's a whole other discussion.

I mean

Kaeli.

Whenever I think of avant, I think of someone that's done enough to live comfortably, but not enough to be remembered or referenced today
