She just hasn't shown any signs of growth or evolving sinse then though, so she kinda lost me

But monica has shown lil to no growth in over 20 yrs tho
That's fine we can have our preferences. Dondria is a better singer to me hands down. If she ever got the music and look together, she'd really be working with something

She lacks certain qualities that a solo artist has because they stand on their own and shine. It's because they know themselves; well the ones with the 20'year career as you said.

Dondria doesn't have that...not yet. So she can find it in a group now.
Or keep grinding and soul searching. She's still giving me lost.

Blah blah blah monica doesn't have any of these great qualities as far as im concerned so that's neither here nor there. All I'm discussing is voice, skill, ability, etc.  Monica pales in comparison to most singers,  including dondria

Dondria can pull off the Love All Over Me's and You Shoulda Knowns

But she is NOT doing Everything to Me, Down 4 Whatever or Anchor yet.

She just isn't.

She's great though. And if you prefer her over Mon I could see why and cannot fault or judge you for that. But what I'm speaking on are the facts lol

Keri is a better songwriter than singer. That's her strength. She's an ok singer but always been hit or miss.

I don't know much about Dondria but vocally live she's ok. Her music is blah.

Monica...her technique doesn't change. She was vocally better back in the day than now.

Monica CAN'T sing lions, tigers, and bears. Monica couldn't even ATTEMPT B&P, she doesn't have the skill, fluidity in her runs, etc. Those monica songs aint shit to sing

She's done songs like a For You I Will, What My Heart Says and Street Symphony, of course she can do LT&B

And Ghan pulled B&P off in her own iconic way but ETM is in the same vain as that song vocally. Very much vocals to the front; where control, range and conviction are needed to make the vocal shine. Mo can do a begging and pleading in her own way and it would slay...DOWN!

Dondria put a nice lil twist on the Way Ghan did it.
