Feel like less people are talking about this since the ones killed were gay.

I saw a disgusting post earlier on someones facebook actually agreeing with the shooter.

Disgusting.  What possible reason would you have to allow possible terrorists to own guns?

Because you're afraid it might somehow later infringe upon your right to have yours.

I may be ignorant to this.
But I just wasn't raised to own a gun or feel the need to own one.
I just can't relate.

But even if we MUST have the right to own a gun.
Why can't it just be a typical run-of-mill weapon?
Why the automatic? It's just too much.

I agree.  You don't need anything that can shoot more than a few bullets one at a time.  At least make the crazies have to stop, grab more bullets, and reload, giving someone a chance to stop them or escape. 

Civilians shouldn't own or even be allowed to practice with anything automatic.
