Pharrell produced Girlfriend and he loved that sound, so they started working together.. I think his collaborations with Pharrell and Timbaland were great and I believe he is really inspired by them. I don't think he is just using this sound to make some money, i believe he genuinely loves to express himself that way.. But maybe it is better for him to shut up now because talking about these things is difficult. He was inspired by the speech because he cared and now everyone is telling him he is the opposite: some racist.

which is what I don't get.
the gorls want and strive for equality, but when someone of another color says something
in FAVOR of the movement, might I add, they attack them for it....

like, all your doing is alienating people who support the movement
now Justin wont say anything on the topic anymore which defeats the damn purpose
you'd think the gorls would want people to stand up and speak out..they wont anymore
and then the girls will wonder why no one says anything...

you dumb fucks bully anyone who does speak out.

I dont think there was an issue with him being inspired
however when he was asked about Janet & the appropriation
his response pretty much dismissed it
thats what got him in hot water

Janet has to own up to the fact she wanted to show that titty! I'm so sorry but ... yes she did want the world to see that titty!

She was older than him, she should have never out him in that position! Stop thinking of a race thing and think of it as a business/human thing. You would've done what Justin did.

Jan acts shy, but apparently all those moans on her records are real. She would have women come into the recording booth to eat her box so she could reall give a real moan mess owt.

ch....
it shouldve been left at him being inspired. all that other stuff was extra and not needed
the gorls on twitter got some courage from Jesse's speech and took that opportunity to attack someone non-black

what was he supposed to say "oh! got me! i appropriate culture" umm....no.
he defended himself while basically saying he makes the music he loves, which he is allowed to
there is no appropriation...you gorls really jumped out the damn window after this Iggy mess
now every damn thing is "oh! appropriation!"

you gorls ain't give not a fuck before, but now wanna give all this "I'm a justic warrior!" mess out. MISS ME

yummy

i agree to an extent. jt's style is drenched in classic black music sound. the flip side of it is that he gives props and acknowledgment to the those who create for him and have influenced him. the catch 22 comes in can he just be a kid who is musically and fashionably influenced by a particular culture, yet not be a voice of the struggle of the culture? i think the two can be mutually exclusive. however the way he did janet lets me know he has no intention on advocating for the culture she in need form counterparts outside of the culture who have influence.  devil's advocate, there are black artists who are born into the culture that don't either. it's an interesting topic. i think jesse's speech spoke to both the one born into it and the one influenced and told them to both get in line.

yea, I don't care for Justin or his shrieking falsetto myself, but it's easy to attack the blue eyed soul singer when it comes to being silent on black issues. Is this Vic gorl gonna take these other coons who have become millionaires glamorizing selling drugs, marginalizing women and just being human pieces of shit to task for their hesitance to help?

I sure wouldve done what Justin did
but then I wouldnt have thrown her under the bus afterward
I mean HE did it at the end of the day, he snatched off the clothes not Janet
and he was over 21. The only reason he didnt get criticized is his race and he knows it
If Chris were to rip off Rih's top he would be burned at the stake
come on now

yummy

I mean, he's not lying and what do his black peers have to do with a white man appropriating black music and culture and getting away with it? :uhh: JT can't even act like he cares about black ppl. JT should've kept his mouth shut because he made himself a target now.

it's a valid comparison. why expect the white guy to do it, when the to black ones run from it as well? we have to start at home. this isn't the 50's where the black artists were about community when the white ones stole their sound and became huge. however that being said, two wrongs don't make a right either. appropriation is appropriation. i for one think this should've been a pressed issue when the janet thing happened. the gorls let it die down and acted as if it never happened when he returned with a new black infused bop lol
Justin has also progressed RnB sound, he's contributed.

what was he supposed to say
nothing. Im sure he gets millions of haters tweeting him nonsense everyday
why did he have to respond to them in that instance? He shouldve just ignored everyone after being
"inspired" but he HAD to "clapback"

but boy :dead:
Jan was about 40 something, why did she even want a 21 year old ripping her top off

I'm sorry, but I can't fault him for distancing himself from her

girl I looked to you as a mentor and just because you wanted to be NASTY both our careers were almost ruined.

Like.. I'm so sorry but new age blacks always try to pass the buck by playing the race card

now, could he have sent a nice sentiment to her or public statement. Yea

but maybe he was mad at her. I know I would be.

they were both wrong, why would he be mad for something he AGREED to do?
and his career was not almost ruined, only hers

If that would've been Usher or Chris, they would've deleted and blocked Janet too
let's be real :kii: :kii:

girl you tried my livelihood all to show the world your new piercing. No ma'am, he can't keep getting blamed for that :dead:

It wasn't an accident :dead: Janet's concerts are also a bit much.. They just chose the wrong place to do this performance.. I'm sure it wouldn't have been a big problem at the mtv awards.

The latter couldn't have come at a better time. Not only had he just started a high-profile relationship with actress Cameron Diaz, but he was coming off a PR disaster in his now-infamous Super Bowl performance with Janet Jackson. Justin apologized immediately, but some felt he shifted the blame solely to Jackson, whose breast he exposed as he sang, "I'll have you naked by the end of this song."

"In my honest opinion now ... I could've handled it better," Justin admits. "I'm part of a community that consider themselves artists. And if there was something I could have done in her defense that was more than I realized then, I would have. But the other half of me was like, 'Wow. We still haven't found the weapons of mass destruction and everybody cares about this!' "

In retrospect, Timberlake thinks he should have been held more responsible. "I probably got 10 percent of the blame, and that says something about society," he explains. "I think that America's harsher on women. And I think that America is, you know, unfairly harsh on ethnic people."
