Sbdbdbdbdbdbddddddd

Some styles can last for days though

Young

Sdddddddddd

To me it's just like normal maintenance.

Face masks etc

The good thing is those types of styles can last a while if you maintain it right.

So if you have to spend and hour for the week on your hair you actually save time in the long run. Just wrap it up at night and oil your scalp .
Wake up and go.
It can definitely be done.

I try not to judge either but a perm mess isn't good for your hair.
That's why I was saying I understand wigs and things to an extent .
As long as it's not a go to style and you never wanna be seen or tend to your own mess

She's a huge hypocrite.

As for this hair mess how many black do you gurs know throw chemicals into their hair because it's just easier and less time consuming vs black women who actually struggle with some form of self hate and change their locks to rub arms with whitey?

:diddraispoot:

Is it really easier/less time consuming tho?  Those same women have to constantly flee from any droplet of rain, spend hours at the salon, wrap their hair every night, and get tracks sewn in for fullness.

It's only easier because they want a eurocentric hairstyle and afro textured hair wasn't meant for that.  It's nothing to throw your hair in a puff, a braid, a twist, or just a nicely shaped afro.

You obviously don't have natural hair then if you think it's just some quick and go mess.

only problem is those ain't not got damn waves. waves have a definite S pattern, and its consistent and even.

i don't know what shape that is in her hair. unless the S stands for stroke

I wouldn't be laughing @ her if she didn't add this mess under the video

QuoteI naturally have a loose 3c natural curl pattern so, the products I use in this video only enhance/maintain my curls.

The outcome of this look ultimately depends your natural curl pattern.

Its important to learn what works for YOUR hair. No amount of products will change your natural curl pattern (except for chemicals) so just embrace what God gave you.
LDKKKLDS

to me, it just looks like a hair that was permed LONG ago thats still recovering

and shes trying to SPRUCE it up with creams and mess

but, if she claims its natural. i guess.

You actually make a good point. I didn't think of that. I've seen plenty of women who will spend top dollar and spend hours and hours trying to achieve the illusion of a looser texture of hair. It's the amount of manipulation that adds on a lot of time in many cases.

When on the other hand, there are plenty of women who will proudly rock their Afro in a simple style that better conforms to its natural shape.

On Youtube, the Black/Mixed women with loose curly hair are the most viewed, even though they're a more of a minority when it comes to Black natural hair. And the vloggers who are showing women how to take care of kinkier hair go ignored. Mostly because a lot of times women will hope that their hair comes out to be a type 3 mess out once they're done transitioning from the perms and relaxers. When they don't see curls or waves they think its just because they're not styling it right or something.

There's tons of videos about stuff like that. I didn't realize how huge this Natural Hair thing is until I started looking for tutorials.

Then you see gorls like this one below who proudly claim their "3c" hair, when in all reality its limp hair that's still recovering from heat damage. :dead: She had the NERVE to put a disclaimer in the description talking about "this works for me because my hair is 3c! embrace ur texture! if u dont have this hair if wont work for u! be happy with who u r!!! dont try to be me! :stressed: "

they read her in the comments. :plzstop: and gave her a wake up call

But I'm sure she's still in denial.

!!!
When I first started growing my hair out 10 years ago I was desperate for the perfect product to make my hair "curly".  Then when that didn't work I would experiment with twist outs and braid outs to see how many twists were needed to get the "good hurr" look.

When most people go natural they still carry that Eurocentric view of beauty so of course its gonna be a lot of work if your hair is kinky.  Now it only takes me 10 minutes at night to put in 6 jumbo twists so that I can have a nice fluffy moisturized afro in the morning.  I still use certain techniques to bring out a curl pattern from time to time (Kinky Kurly with the shingling method gives me curls a plenty) but I have no insecurities about my real texture sans product.

And then for the next couple of weeks you don't have to do anything to your hair.

Natural mess has to be managed every single day.
