The south gives HOME and LOVE to me. I think the media has manipulated otherwise though...I've heard terrible stories but never encountered the racism I have up north.

Up north it's like, the while people don't even really interact with you unless they know you cause they are too scared.

I'm giggling @ you gors trying to act like the South is giving slavery days. It's very integrated here and you can see whites and blacks kii-ing and talking all the time. Interracial couples are pretty much a norm. You will never see that up North. It's segregated and racist af.

Not sure if they are more racist down south. There are plenty of unapologetic KKK townships, rallies and units in the midwest as well. I will say, they just don't give AF in the South. They won't hide their racism.

It's funny b/c I feel like there is more overt racism up north versus the latent racism down south. Like there are definitely tons of racists in the south but they know it's frowned upon so they usually keep it hush hush. Northerners give more of a  tea. It's just that the south is steeped in racist history/tradition (like the plantations) so it seems more oppressive. Granted I'm speaking the NC "south," so further down could be worse.

There was some #WhiteLivesMatter flop protest here and all of 6 to 7 rednecks showed up  There were more whites a tthe #BlackLivesMatter protests (in some of the whitest areas at that) I'm 100% sure the North states would come out in droves tho

I have a friend that was driving thru the south. He pumped gas and when he tried to pay for it, they refused to except his money and then called the police and told them he stole it
