A few people on social are claiming that networks are trying to sell her on a reality show that will follow her through this ordeal and the aftermath. I believe it, but don't think she'd go that route.

I don't think she should. But she will do what she wants.

I believe the public needs music in droves, tho.
Brandy has had SIX TOTAL SINGLES in the past 12 years... Just 6.

Mind-blowing.

Reading that is so crazy. Damn.

It's to her LEGEND that people are still even discussing this woman.
Fighting to keep her on their shitty label...
I mean.
Not everyone can get away with that.

I just don't understand, if the deal was so criminal and slavery why was it agreed to? He couldn't go in and change anything that you had not agreed to. I think the courts probably dismissed it because honestly it looks like an artist who made a regretful decision and just wants out.

But she agreed to it. :stressed: A contract is powerful

The courts dismissed it on the grounds of a venue clause. Are any of y'all actually reading the documents and articles?
Well I did use the word "probably" with my guess. Honestly I don't care enough to sift through exhibit A thru Z. But I can tell GHan realizes she made a mistake.

I think the media and everyone else will spin it to whatever side they want. I think the fans at least have a responsibility to somewhat know what's going on to have her back.

I'm not here for lashing her for signing a good deal on paper. But I guess a "probably" preface means that there is more "probability" that people are just  talkin out their ass.

The same questions and assumptions are asked in these threads, when the answers have been posted time and time again. But kii!

Brandy, who signed with Chameleon Entertainment in 2011, originally sued the label in Los Angeles Superior Court in March of this year. That lawsuit was dismissed earlier this month because Brandy?s recording contract with Chameleon contained a forum selection clause that specified all claims, disputes or agreements would be resolved through New York state or federal courts.

Contracts are so crazy. NY only?

The suit further stipulates the defendants demanded that she relinquish rights to income from her concerts, acting roles, endorsements and other income-generating ventures in order to secure a 360 deal with Epic Records, where Prescott currently works as head of urban A&R -- which Brandy has refused to do.

THIS MESS was not apart of her original deal.
So they are withholding FUNDS from the original contract, to FORCE her into the 360 one.

That's what I get from it.

Initially wasn't she seeking 1 million dollar. Why did she drop it down to 270K after the first lawsuit was dismissed?  :dead:

The whole point of the suit, to my understanding.

There could be hope for this case. I thought the whole thing was thrown out all together.
She just filed in the wrong place. :justabit:

I'm so excited
:dead:

And I hate reading legal paperwork...

Unless it's my own shit, of course.
