also some kids (maybe even in this thread) were/are like wild animals so a lost parent cannot think of anything to do than try to TAME the little beast

see, after the 3rd time of asking, the situation needed to be escalated

their kids will grow up not respecting authority and devaluing others tbh

he should have asked twice

1. Suzy, please put the toy back because your grandmama is going to buy you one
2. Suzy, put the toy back, I understand you want it, but now is not the time, you have to be patient

this way you've fully explained to the child the what's and why's of their current behavior
then you issue a warning

3. Suzy, put the toy back or you're gonna get a spanking

once that disciplinary action is in place, Suzy has a choice to make and she'll learn her behavior won't be tolerated and there's a consequence. there's nothing abusive about the process tbh guys
