Without being bias, one must go. Based strictly on catalogue

Brandy is not the type for the General public. Put this into a singer's community or into a Gospel Forum and things would be different.

This is hard but let me try.
Based upon OVERALL albums, and not just singles...

Monica goes 1st, then Aaliyah, Beyonce, Brandy, Rihanna, Mary.

Rihanna edged out a lot of them because she has more releases and solid material.

Rih has a string of catchy hit singles. I don't see her catalogue or any of her albums being some sort of cultural moment or helping redefine a genre like some of the other ladies listed (kind of confused as to why she was even listed). And just because she was releasing an album every other week doesn't mean she outweighs anyone.

Sorry but d

Zankou.

these memes are stupid. they all have their musical highs and operate in their own respective lane, I don't see how or why anyone's discography cancels anyone else's out.

Agreed, Brandy is of that generation, but a different cal'bur

Lalah Hathaway
Kim Burrell
etc

at least that's who I see her with...

Yea... Brandy's general public slay (especially in the urban community) slowed-down in 2002.

But her RESPECT in the industry grew from 2002. Which I'm grateful for. I'd rather have respect than general public approval.

In order for Brandy to get back that general public slay, she'd have to have another major album, preferably rooted in an URBAN/R&B Brandy-style-debut slay.

wow I went to the post.. and Brandy was the overall consensus that had to go, and I noticed that overall it was women that voted her out.

Why do y'all think that is ?

actually it makes sense
its a gift and a curse I believe

When ppl say, She's your favs fave, you have to factor in decline it's simple division :dead:
Not as many ppl are going to "get" Brandy's music and the vocal artistry

Kinda sucks, but I'd say out of that list Aaliyah is probably the same way. They have die hard fans, they can't be duplicated

The other girls give more of a simplistic commercial appeal in their catalogues

Brandy really isn't just R&B though... She should move in the Janelle Mon?e direction or go the Lalah Hathaway route... This back to the roots mess, her voice is too intricate for a Monica/Mary type record. She blended R&B with gospel, pop and that special artistic edge between Full Moon and Afrodisiac. I need this Brandy...
