I mean someone mentioned Kanye as someone from this generation who's Iconic and you laughed at that, but say the A Town stomp is an iconic dance, so..
Kanye actually is a pop culture icon, but I laughed because he's not bigger than Usher, and he is a rapper it's a dumb comparison

and those are just run of the mill examples

Because they are the only male artists to have a huge impact on music :uhh: :dead:
Most young male artists today would name R.Kelly as a musical influence before Usher lmao
and what other male artists from this generation do we need to pay attention to
name 3 others that have made an impact as big or as near as big as the 3 I mentioned
we damn near discuss everyone on here...
Chris, Trey, NE-YO, Jason Derulo, Miguel, August etc
are these people iconic

they are influenced by Usher, do you have to influence OTHER icons to be an icon? Because if so there's no icons mentioned in here

You said.... MJ, Prince & R.kelly were generic examples of artists who were iconic and made an impact
key word "iconic"
I said.... name others
you named chris, neyo, august alsina, trey,

chris, neyo, miguel, frank, august, trey ect are not iconic.

some people on the net use the word 'icon' or 'iconic' too easily.

Icon means something huge, someone that left an impact worldwide and for music history. There's only a few that are real icons, and mostly are from the 80s/90s:

Michael Jackson, Madonna, Prince, Whitney.....

And if we talk from different eras: Aretha, Nina Simone...

Usher? hell fucking No, lol. I mean...... lets be serious here guys. None from my family know who is Usher, that should tell u if he's an icon or not. An icon doesnt mean being an icon in just 1 country or 2, it has to be a worldwide impact and in the long run, not just having some hits here and there. Hits there are thousands, that doesnt make you an Icon

What would be your analysis towards R. Kelly

I always thought Usher was nothing more than a sexed up MJ clone, but he did make a mark during his prime. The problem is his entire career post "Confessions" has been him jumping on one trend after the other and doing whatever he can to stay relevant.

Wouldn't be surprised if he did a reality show anytime soon tbh.
