Not never even ever. If my friend is doing well im in a proud space, not a they're showing me up space. People like that are disgusting. If ANYTHING id probably feel more motivated to succeed because if the people around me are doing well then it makes me wanna aspire for more or to maximize my potential

Yes, my friend recently go married. Same sex IR couple and I was jealous as hell. Jealous does not mean hateful nor spiteful.  It's okay to be jealous sometimes you just have to make sure it doesn't become nasty. Jealousy could be the boost that you needed to get on the right track.

I have like 2 friends that are very competitive. But I don't think we've ever been down n out when something good happens to the other.

but it's more of a motivational tool!

Then ur not describing jealousy. Jealousy is what it is. U can't have ur own definition for it. By definition, jealous does indeed mean spiteful. U might wanna look for another word to describe what ur feeling because the    definition of jealous is set in stone
