Now WAIT tho cause I need Bre's thoughts on this

QuoteIt?s easy to see how men who have grown up with images of limp-wristed, reed-thin gay men form this sort of reaction and seek to show that they don?t fit the stereotype.  Preoccupation with muscles  becomes a way of relieving fears about our masculinity.
Places where gay men socialize especially bars, gyms, and sex clubs, often emphasize physical attributes or make those the first criterion for checking someone out.  It?s difficult for someone who is older than a certain age or different from the prevailing cultural standards of beauty to catch someone?s eye in a bar or club.

So basically all this time .... these gym phaggs are trying to overcompensate and not be seen as limp-twisted?

Thankfully, I've never really had body image issues except for the time I thought I wasn't growing while all my friends were hitting puberty lol.

Genetics play a huge role - my family members have pretty average build so when I started working out, it wasn't too hard to put on mass. I still eat what I want though but I cook more than I eat out and I don't have candy, cookies, or soda at home. Also, I try to workout 4/5 days a week and I feel weak when I miss a gym day but I will have that pizza  :heyddy:

Eh, I'd be typing too much. I agree with most of this though. I think with any subgroup or culture the more you adhere to the standards of the dominant culture the more "glory" you get. Because femininity is the general, stereotypical perspective of gay men for straight folks, masculinity is more valued because it serves as a way to become special or a "normal" or "cool" gay who is more likely to be accepted by straights. Acceptance from the dominant group makes you feel "better than" others in your own group.

His last point definitely is true imo. Gay men (or just men) are very visually-oriented forks . The problem comes in when you feel you can look at someone and automatically make judgments and assume to know what the person is into(top, bot, masc gay) based solely on how they present. Anyone who doesn't fit the standard isn't as attractive to their peers.

Gays generally love youth and muscle headed fags with beards. What do u think tho bavi?

Real

I don't necessarily feel pressure but when I go thru periods where I'm not working out or eating right, I definitely see and feel it. Then I tighten up. But I've never felt like I was being externally pressured by it.

I love this thread. I honestly have been sloppy as fuck these last 6 months or so. Many of the sexy trade that I pull be feeling my body up when we stark making out, and I am talking really really gorgeous instagram models with huge pecs and mess, so they feel me up and then they be like "Yo, do you work out?", and I am like no lol and they come with the  "You should!"

And I go

:mmywheresddy:

Then they feel my ass and look at my face and we gon fuck anyway.

But for the summer I always turn anorexic, cause I feel that pressure. I am just a naturally THICK kinda guy, never been the skinny type. So when I starve and work out I look JUST right. If I move to a sunny beach city though, I am going to be having to go to the gym and diet 5 days a week minimum, these chiseled bodies would kill my self esteem.
