This is dope I think I'm gonna do one like this, this summer. There is also one that my African humanities professor told us about, but it has a majority of African dna so you can get an more accurate location and percentage of your african dna but u have to take the dna of one of your older male ancestors for the best results.
Do it!!!!!

I mean, I clearly I know I'm a black..African American....whatever. :dead: but knew there was admixture in my maternal family. The test was on point -- just confirmed what I already knew --  a black man with strong mixed heritage -- only in a more precise manner.

I want to dig more into my African roots, and learn more about the Ivory Coast and its people now.

And I know not to claim Native American mess, cuz it's not in my blood.  :kii: :kii: :kii: May be in my grandmother's mess, but it didn't pass down strong enough to show up in a test for me.  :plzstop: I'm a black man of african and european descent.

but being Native AMerican  just sounds so edgy :stressed: and sexy :ohwow:

Zzzzzzzzzzxx

Wow you speak so well are you......

I don't need a test to tell me that I'm foreign. I just am.

nnnn iono if sprinkles of 3-5% here and there make you "mixed" though. :helpme:

We all are to some degree then. But I guess going to Sweden was a bit of a homecoming then!

It's more about identifying where your roots lie, Malcolm. What continents your ancestors come from. I know that I'm of African and European descent; do I know exactly what tribes in Africa or what sun tanning beds in Europe my ancestors came from? No. But I have a better idea.

Furthermore, I was under the impression that there may have been some Native AMerican in my blood. It's actually one of the reasons why I took the test. I don't want to be walking around claiming something I'm not. That's just ignorant and I'm too old for that. If I'm saying something it needs to be based on something as solid as DNA. Not what I heard from my godsister's aunt.

The test pretty much confirmed what I knew. Mostly black, mixed heritage. I would never identify as "mixed" though. I think mixed is more like half and half. A black person with mixed HERITAGE is a better way and more accurate way to describe me. BUt all of that is subjective and completely up to whoever is viewing it, since there's no Webster definition of mixed.

And I know some of you will kii but being of mixed heritage is a huge reason I struggled so much with my hair, not knowing what to do with it for so long. It's kinky and it's curly at the same time. It's thick, dense hair with a looser curl, and although it appears very full its actually very fine in texture (the strands themselves), which makes it tricky finding good product to use. Any person who has my hair will tell you that. Then you have other black people telling you how jealous they are of your hair...asking you about your heritage.....I know it sounds funny that I'd complain about something like that, but its part of what drove me to this test to be honest.

Here in the south the "good hair' complex is stronger than anywhere else I've ever been. They want to know WHY you have it....HOW did u get it....why ur curl pattern is so consistent...the list goes on, and its always black women. It's weird having women tell you that they envy something on you -- cuz ur a man :dead: :uhh: or others will ask u , "does it naturally curl like that?".....which is the question I really detest. Like, why would I perm my fucking head. :dead:

I mean, even on the board, all I do is post a pic of my hair and people start talking about it -- whether making jokes or asking what I use, or whatever. Imagine it in real life for me.

I know I'm venting about something that may seem rather trivial and even comedic upon reading it, but I just want to possibly open some minds as to what goes on and why I sought answers. This wasn't random. People see hair that is not strictly kinky and automatically jump to a "Native AMerican heritage" conclusion. That's ignorance within our community, I don't know where it began...but I don't want to encourage or foster it. So next time someone asks I'll be prepared with educated answers.

#endrant . U guys can post a random letter under this essay now. :dead: got some studying to do....love u bvys!!!!!!!!! i'm watching u :watchit: stay fabulous
and keep fucking twirling

Congrats sis.

I used 23andme  :raycharles2urmess:

ss

does 23andme go more into detail?

Not really. I means AncestryDNA gives you a country of orgin like "Nigeria, Ethiopia, Congo, France, Spain etc.,)

23andme gives a more generalized tea like West Africa, Central Africa, East Africa, Norther European, Southern European etc

But 23andme is supposed to be more accurate and it tells you little extra stuff like how much Neantherthal DNA you have, Where your Mother & Father's Dna first started thousands of years ago etc.,

It's alot of extra stuff you can do with 23andme but I don't understand that shit

Sounds cool. Thanks. I'm gonna try it out.

This is amazing ❤️❤️❤️

I can only imagine how it feels to be able to geographically see where your ancestors are from. Crazy what technology can do nowadays
