and THAT I agree with, having darker skin became synonymous with having bad skin

If ppl didn't see her as "dark" that's their perception

Basically

I call myself brown skinned because blacks are pretty much a shade of brown whether they are light or dark but most people I encounter say I'm light. It's really all about perception.

They judge themselves on what is closes to white. All non-white races do it.

There's a reason why there hasn't been any mainstream, crossover deep-brown skinned girls in almost 20 years

Rih wouldn't be half of what she is were she Kelly Rowland's shade and that is a fact. The main audience of pop/R&B stars are too close-minded and the record labels feed into that when they sign these less than talented broads
