But you also have to start with education. How many black people get the chance to really become a good writer? Inspire young kids to go study..talent will get recognized
Plenty.
How many of them actually get recognised?
A few
I guess it's also a who knows who situation
yep. trust me, thats most of it.

It must be such a great feeling of accomplishment to have created a successful TV show.

I appreciate what Tyler Perry & Lee daniels do for black actors by giving them work, but at the same time its very counterproductive because it puts these actors into that same box.. All of their storylines consists of black people struggling, black people plotting against each other (empire) or overusing stereotypes (madea). Black film needs to expand the genre in their films... More action or supernatual films would be great.

But lets keep it 100...how many blacks are going up for action and supernatural tv shows? The numbers are good for Empire because they tap into black culture.

How can you say that when there arent too many to chose from?

I think, if done the right way, a black version of true blood could deem very successful. Its just that hollywood turns down these ideas for more basic storylines

I just dont think Shaquanetta and Ray Ray are checking for an ethnic true blood. They want to see things they can relate to. Which is your Empire, Have and Have Nots etc.

I think Lee Daniels could have came with better points. U.S. has 13% blacks, you are not always gonna SQUEEZE them into everything. And obviously white ppl finna have mostly white ppl. Just like Tyler and Lee's fills give a full BLACK OWT mess.

Empire is NOT diverse, HTGAWM is diverse. Shonda is the true diversity queen.

I dont mind all black shows. We have been bombared with all white shows for decades.

I don't mind it either, but I would not call them "diverse".

We dont know until they really try though.. White Hollywood has a diverse catalogue of movies.. Black entertainment deserves the same diversity. We arent that closed minded that we have to keep making the same damn movies & shows over and over.
