And right after gay marriage got legalized, seeing a bunch of black people say shit like "now legalize being black".

Umm...y'all  know gay black people still exist right?

:uhh:

I used to be one of the "oh two totally different scenarios, didn't choose to be black!"

Until I see it for what it is, civil injustice
And being a black male and gay makes it so much easier to see

I'm not apart of the LGBT community. Gay getting married don't matter to me. #BlackLivesMatter sorr' battyboys
I was actually going to say that, but I didn't want to offend you. I think that since you do not identify with the LGBT community, you assume others don't, and even shouldn't identify with the group in some sense. Which easily allows you to disregard their offense.
wow yeah I may be a bit insensitive but white gays do not accept us so I don't want to be apart of a community that doesn't promote equality. Our Black Trans are being murdered. Where is the mess about that Cait white ass got on TV made a mess and then what? Nothing.
You do know that there are LGBT organizations specifically geared toward black youth, right? Take some time to research these places if you really feel the need to take the time and fight the injustices against our sub-community. A simple Google search will introduce you to a few in a matter of seconds.

You could say the same bout the black lives matter movement not saying shit about black trans women losing their lives.

I don't really care about Trans matters luv I was simply just using it as an example.

:shannonsmissing:

Then you're really no diferent from the folks you're complaining about...

Are you trans?

I used to think the same way too until I realized ALL of the injustices I face need to be adressed, not just the ones that are more visible.

She was reading white faggots because they go around saying "yassssssss bitch" "bye Felicia" and being on tv using black gay slang making a mockery of black women. Black gays aren't apart of the LGBT community.
I know many black men who closely identify with the LGBT community.
Especially in New York City. Many of them run foundations targeted to gay black men, lesbian black women, etc.

I do get your point -- as in, the element of exclusivity within the white gay community, however, if someone is referencing them, they should be very blunt (as they themselves and their fans claim they are), by saying just that. Because making such a broad, blanket statement is only opening up the doors to offend many people who do identify as lesbian or gay.
I agree with the first part.  I know many black men who identify with the LGBT community, march in pride parades and so forth. Even give back to the gay community. And there are plenty of white gay men who are very accepting of black gay men. One of the biggest HIV/AIDS organizations which is in NYC GMHC, does a lot for black gay men whether they're HIV positive or not. There are a number of organizations that actually help gay black men especially when they're kicked out of their homes and so forth.
!!!!!!!!!!!

Imagine being in a predominately black LGBT homeless shelter (because they do exist), and seeing a tweet about your fav artist not accepting gays. 9 times out of 10, you're not going to think all that critically and really delve into the comment. You see it for what it is. This is my problem with blanket statements, regardless of intent.

I could careless what Azulu Shakur is tweeting about, but I cannot bring myself to be unaligned with those who feel some type of way.

yummy

I never really thought about it like that. I guess because me being gay hasn't been a burden for me it's easier to overlook.

So yeah, there are many blacks who not only identify with the LGBT community, but are working within that identification to help those who have the same complexions as they do -- overcoming obstacles, battling diseases and dealing with the rejection from their black deeply religious families.

Again, look them up if you really care. Otherwise, I'll just expect another "n".

∧ ∨ ∩ ∪

I don't care really. I said that in my 2nd/3rd post.

If you don't care, then there's no point in mentioning the disregard of black trans killings. You've admittedly disregarded them yourself, so who are you to point out who should be regarding them, when you're of the same background and don't even care.

Again, just because you don't identify with the LGBT community, doesn't mean others shouldn't or don't. They do, and are actually doing something within these black neighborhoods. And that's all I will say on that matter.

Yea I can understand that
Mostly because it can be "hidden" to a certain extent so we escape a lot of the injustices

But I look back and feel bad about all the out kids in high school and how bad they got treated. And I escaped that,BUT
what if everybody knew what me and the defensive end we're doing in the teams hot tub after workouts?!
I would've gotten dogged out just as bad as those kids

From now on, even tho I'm not socially clockable, I don't deal with ppl who are hateful in general or slight any group of ppl. Fair is fair
