Absolutely. I've never really been shy, but you can try different things that may pull you out of ur comfort zone, and once u face those fears, normal settings may not seem like such a task.

It's not even normal settings I have problems with. I'm just naturally a low key mysterious awkward person. Like when I meet people for the first time I don't give too much and I think my friends considering it as me being "stand-offish" whenever they introduce me to someone  :plzstop:
But it's just how I am. I open up at my own pace I think.

I think it really depends on the person.

However I think shyness isn't bad. Society always tells us not to be shy. Be open! Introverted=bad. Extroverted=good. Especially in workplace.
But shy people are often very observant and tend to be good listeners.
If you're naturally shy, embrace it and work from there. Try to find a balance that you're still comfortable with.

It depends on the environment and the person so I don't think it's something a person necessarily "outgrows." I've always been outgoing but I did become a bit shy from ages 11-13. You add a little puberty and a few life lessons to the mix and, VOILA! Here I am today!

I'm actually kind of quiet and shy in person.
Really have to get comfortable around people before I begin opening up.

It's something I never really noticed until my best friend pointed it out.

But funnily enough, I'm very quick to make new friends. I'm always seen to be very approachable and friendly.
I guess it's the 100% Herb experience that doesn't come until I know you're good peeps.
I think that's what my bestie was referring to -- all the laughing, silliness and mess. I'm very reserved until I warm up to you.

I'm the same way Herb. If it's one to one. But when it's a large ass group of people (I just came off this travel venture trip) just doing the most it's a lot for me to take in

LOONA.

I used to think i was shy until I realize I was just an introvert and asocial.

sawayama

It's a personality trait. You can do things to overcome it, but for the most part it's not going to go away entirely. And it shouldn't be viewed as a negative thing.

!!!

I've been shy since like forever. There's nothing wrong with it.

People make it seem like it is.

Kurama

Nah not really. Depends on the degree of shyness though.

I think people learn better ways to mask & overcome it.

Aamerie.

"Shy" is a broad term. It could be some form of anxiety.
