Matthew was so evil for sending Latavia back home to live with a man who abused her throughout her childhood and not doing anything about it.

LeToya and LaTavia mentioned this incident in their Sister 2 Sister interview when they got kicked out of the group.  They said LeToya was constantly kicked out of the group because her mom was the one who would demand to get some answers about their money from Mathew. 


I forgot which one dated which, but they dated the twins in JE.

When the news broke that LaTavia and LeToya were gone from Destiny?s Child,

I immediately reported on my segment of "The Tom Joyner Morning Show" that Kelly and Beyonc? already had two new members in the group. The news was that LaTavia and LeToya had quit. Tom's response was to ask me?on the air?to find LaTavia and LeToya and get their side of the story. I did it, and here it is. It's full of surprises. We even got hold of never-before-printed pictures of the girls as pre-teens. I never thought the girls would be as open as they were. If you want to know what they're doing now, you'll find out here. Jamie: So, LaTavia, LeToya, what's going on? Why did you leave Destiny's Child?

LaTavia: First of all, we did not leave the group.

LeToya: We didn't leave, Jamie!

LaTavia: To this day, we have not left the group. We just simply had a dispute with management and in December we wanted to disaffirm our personal management agreement with Matthew Knowles [and his management company,] Music World Entertainment. And because of it, that's why we are where we are right now. [Matthew Knowles, the manager of Destiny's Child, is Beyonc?'s father.]

Jamie: And what was the problem? You felt that you weren't getting the right money or something like that?

LeToya: It was a lot of things. We just didn't feel like management was working in our best interests. Some real cruel things were going on. We had situations where sometimes we would be sick and get threatened to get kicked out of the group.

LaTavia: Just us two, now.

LeToya: Yeah, just us two. A lot of times we didn't know things that we felt we should've known. We just felt like we were in the dark like about the finances. In 1999, we weren't shown any receipts, we weren't shown any financial reports, but in 1999 we got one and that one was wrong.

Jamie: Let's deal with one thing at a time. You said you would be sick?

LaTavia: LeToya got bronchitis. When was that? About a year ago?

LeToya: Yeah, about a year ago. And one time when I was getting over my cold around October, my mom came to visit me on the bus. Well, actually when I came back on the tour she came with me just for one day and she was planning on riding the bus just for one night and then the next day she was gonna fly out. Just so she could show the chaperone, Sheryl Mitchell, how to give me my medicine and stuff like that. Plus, she hadn't seen the shows and it was on our last three shows and she just wanted to see one show. Well, Jamie, do you know that management kicked my momma off the bus at 12 o'clock at night in Baton Rouge?

Jamie: Why?

LaTavia: They said if she didn't get out she would be arrested.

LeToya: Along with myself. He kicked me, my mom?I was 17 at the time?and another group that was on tour with us off the bus. And we all paid for the bus. So you know, we were kicked off our own bus.

Jamie: Why? Who was kicked off?

LeToya: My mom.

LaTavia: There was no reason, Jamie. LeToya's mother would always be the one who would want a separate attorney to look at his contracts. And anytime she said that, he would threaten to kick LeToya out of the group.

Jamie: Wait a minute. You all have been knowing each other since 10 or 11 years old! How did all this get so nasty?

LaTavia: Actually, you know what? It's been nasty, Jamie, from day one.

LeToya: So we hid it very well.

LaTavia: I mean, we were just taking care of our business. But it came to a point where we were like something's gotta go. We can't continue to live our lives like this. We can't continue to be in a career like this. Just this past December, I was on bed rest for two weeks. I got a real bad infection and my body was so tired that it could not fight it off. It was in my nerves and I could not walk. I was in the hospital for a couple days. The doctor gave me an excuse and we had to go to Europe. My doctor was like, "You're in very bad condition and I want you here with me." I was having like 103 fever, breaking out in cold sweats. On the way to the airport in the car, LeToya heard management say, "If LaTavia does not show up to this airport, she's out of this group." And when my mother gave him the excuse, he went all down my mom's throat.

Jamie: What? This is so crazy.

LaTavia: Yeah, it is.

LeToya: It's just stuff like that. This is supposed to be someone who's working for you. And has this much control to where he can kick your momma off the bus and tell you that if you ain't at the airport then you're out the group? Out of your own group that you're paying him to manage??

Was he a combination of Pebbles and Joe Jackson?  An abusive thief?
