You're implying the only way to look kept is to make sure you cant see a single nap, coil or strand. You can get a fade mess out but when you start using words to refer to a fade as clean cut and an afro as unprofessional its a problem

Right, this was the reason a lot of black folks started rocking afros in the 70s. I'm sure most of the gorls were just following a trend, but it was their way of protesting the beauty ideals that they were taught  to live by.

Have any of you ever wondered why keeping your hair "neat" is what's considered professional or acceptable in the workplace? And who decided that was the only way we are supposed to present ourselves?
