Herb.

I really don't want to argue or debate about this.
Just know that there are no hard feelings to you Talisa. I don't want you thinking I hate you now or something.
That's not the case. What's done is done, we all just have to move on.

As far as Iman is concerned, I noticed she became upset with me when I began posting about my Native American heritage. Not my heritage as a whole. I've been researching Ethiopians, and I discovered that they are very proud people, deeply rooted in their African heritage. And they take it very seriously. Iman is Ethiopian.

This explained why Iman suddenly became agitated with me. (Which originally confused me because up until that point, she was on board with Ancestry and was even saying that I inspired her and she wanted to do one of her own). Her frustration came from the fact that I was discussing my Native heritage, when clearly my African heritage is a majority of my ethnic makeup. And she felt as if I was looking over my Ethiopian heritage as well, and SKIPPING straight to Native American.

Once I figured out where her frustration came from, I reached out to her and let her know that the only reason I was talking about my Native heritage first was due to the fact that I immediately connected it with my great grandmother, successfully -- by narrowing down the tribe through my DNA. And I was excited. Yes, my Native heritage is smaller, way smaller, but it is amazing to find out my great grandmother Chief, who I've heard so much about but never got to meet due to her passing, is still somewhere in me, as well as her heritage.

But as you can see, there's not a Native American in my avatar. Because I don't LOOK like them, nor do I identify with them. There is an African Ethiopian man perched . Iman understood. And we moved on.

To make an exhaustingly long story short, the difference here is that I was able to at least pinpoint where frustration may have come from. And it made logical sense. The case wasn't the same here.

pretty much  :plzstop:

And the ancestry thread was one of the few times I got involved with the race wars that you started. I genuinely don't understand why ancestry is so important to people lately. If you thought it was an attack, I'll let you know, it wasn't.

I get why ancestry would be important to someone but it's kinda hard to take this newfound pride in heritage (or just the idea of being mixed) from people who were totally dismissive to the anger behind the protests that went on earlier this year or someone leaping for a joy over a white person being polite to them. And everything doesn't really need to be drilled into the fucking ground with one thread after the other about the same thing but I get some people are more expressive than others.

but yay for progress n stuff

You're mistaken. I wasn't cause I actually like him. I've already discussed with Afro what my issue was. He actually figured it on his own and messaged me about it. I became annoyed with him when that whole "new black" shit happened on the old board then the NA mess on here but we already talked and moved past that.
So basically you thought I was trying to mess with him so you tried to do the same? :dead: :uhh: That's lame.

I respect and understand your stance. However, there is no guidebook which dictates when a black person should begin taking pride in Africa, or a written rule which specifies when one should recognize and correct their ignorance.

Your lack of comprehension continues to shine thru, hun.

I do nothing because of you. I was comparing situations, not citing some sort of inspiration. And you weren't the only one dragging him :plzstop: :plzstop:

Not really cause he has grown as a person. Same with young. I mean, before the board got shut down he was looking to do research on black history and why so many blacks are angry at whites etc.

I don't think there's any timeline to someone realizing or learning. It's just weird to see someone be so dismissive of one aspect of their own culture and then obsess over another.

Gives a dr. jekyll and ms. hyde mess owt.

Bentley!

Talisa was always shading my sis, I clocked tea from way back

I'm just glad Af sees through ha now. She'll get over it lolz
