I feel like once you start watching a show with sexually active gay characters, you know what you're getting yourself into.

But it's crazy how some can sit through Hollywood's many slave flicks and watch their people get whipped for points, but can't make it through some hugs and kisses between 2 men?

I can't watch slave movies/black people getting whipped either
And yet they continued to be made and garner a lot of attention when they are. I get it if you stay away from them altogether, that makes sense. But 50's point is just so dumb. The viewership built every episode 1st season with gay happenings in the mix. And I don't see a justification for being turned off by something you knew was coming.

it's like going shopping on Black Friday and being shocked that the stores are crowded :dead:

It's true.

black ppl not liking something doesn't make them "haters"

True, but I think there's a difference between not liking something and wanting to see something fail.

50 isn't the face of all black ppl, luv

I agree lol. My point wasn't that they have to support or like it, but when they rejoice in the failure, I think that's coming from a hateful place.

Lol, which I never said. Our people tend to be haters, 50 is one of many who display this same behavior.

I see points made on both sides of the fence...

on one hand it's like...everyone's entitled to an opinion. being black doesn't mean we must agree with every black politician, like all black shows, etc.

but on the other hand .... many of us often complain about lack of opportunities and recognition, but when we see it before our eyes, we don't support.

I think a happy mean between the two would be simply switching your TV to the channel for that hour. Just to show Nielsen ratings that you have tuned in, which in turn would show that black shows are pulling in viewers, and consequently more ad revenue....which ultimately would provide more opportunity for black writers and actors to create shows which you may actually enjoy a bit more.

that's just my idea. for those who really are tired of the lack of options for us and opportunity for our people, but don't necessarily like the show itself. just turn it on and then go do something else.
