anytime I saw little black boys on the trains in NYC selling chocolate, I'd buy it. I don't eat chocolate, and prefer fruitier tasting candies....but the fact that they were selling chocolate and not drugs was enough reason for me to support. whether i enjoyed the actual product or not was of little significance to me.

it wasn't unusual....
they'd get it wholesale by the box and then sell it to make extra cash.

people always panhandle on the NYC subways. 
and sing, and dance, and have sex

Hate to say it but he's kinda right.
Empire's main demographic is black ppl & you know how a lot of our race can be homophobic.
That said, the homophobes aren't doing THAT much damage. I've heard people say it's "too much gayness" & that it's just plain bad this go around.

!!!! yes there is so much homophobia and ignorance in the black community but i highly doubt its affecting ratings...

maybe people are realizing the writing/acting on this show is actually kind of....... bad

i've said this a million times and will continue to say it....i dont want this show to flop....which other black tv show is doing these numbers?....this will only open up A LOT of doors for AA actors and actresses
