I said and maintained that Adele would win that award when I saw the nominations, and she did.  She deserved it imo. I don't even like Adele like that and didn't purchase any of her albums before 25. I haven't purchased a beyonce album since "4". Point is, not everyone is lost in that sauce. Adele deserved her mess

I have no problem with her winning.  She was humble, broke down in tears and told the world Queen Bey deserved it.

And still walked away with 2 awards that night bringing her career total to 22.

I kinda cringed at Jay rapping "21 GRAMMYs I'm a savage nigga!" on "Shining" the night she lost AOTY.

I think that's why that song is so bittersweet to me.  They were pretty sure she'd win and had the song ready to go as soon as the ceremony ended.

But judging by Jay winning that Icon Award at the pre-Gala this year, the Carters ain't letting the GRAMMYs go.  But I think that's a good thing.  It shows they aren't taking it too much to heart.
