Gilgamesh.

I agree and I think it's actually gotten worse or maybe we're more observant of the fuckery as we get older?

Very true, Lalah Hathaway put out an amazing album too, they just don?t get the shine as they should because it?s not commercial enough

KING BENTLEY.

I remember someone making the point that during the 90s', non black people couldn't do what we do vocally. However, that generation of kids born in the 90s' learned and grew up listening to what we do. As soon as non black people can do what we do, it makes us obsolete, because the package we come in ( african phenotype ) is not agreeable to white supremacy.

Hence, the vocal and music stylings of Adele, JT, Robin Thicke, Bieber, Ariana, Jessie J, Almost every white singer from the UK.

This is so true I remembered a post was put out in 2010 that said they we're gonna push the white R&B artists to the forefront to take over the genre and radio. And now they have done exactly that. I'm starting to see their trying to make their way into rap. That's gonna be harder to infiltrate though. I give about another 20 years before their able to do that.

But who takes the blame? Is it the record labels and marketing execs or the consumers that are not supporting black artists.

It?s marketing and business

Politics etc

Can?t blame the public . They buy and support what they see most of on tv

Black R&B acts just don?t get the same support or budget they use to have

I talked about this on my show a lot but the gorls got tired of it. But it is very very true. My black cousins grow up going to Ariana Grande concerts thinking that shit is R&B singing.

A few generations and R&B will be like Rock & Roll and Jazz, a genre that used to black in the day, but is basically white now.
