I hope she gets it together soon. I don't see this boycott picking up any real steam and it's kind of not cool to throw accusations of blatant racism without solid evidence that its the case in this instance.
This goes back to putting value back into our own mess. She gets handed an award by the Whitey committee for her beautiful portrayal of a ghetto crackhead mom and all of a sudden she's too high brow for certain things. Most decorated. Check my resume.
Chris Rock and Dave Chapelle may not have awards for best actor and mess but they really made a point of and did a great job HONING in on what they started as - comedians. And as a result, they don't need to remind Netflix about an award on their resume in order for Netflix to to believe that they'll have plenty of their subscribers hehe'ing and haha'ing.
Love Monique and I think she genuinely has love for herself and her people but know what battles to fight. This entire thing isn't putting her in the best light.
