It's a shame cause she's one of the few comediennes I'd actually sit and watch a special from.
!!!! n

A lot of the males i don?t even watch tbh. Deray is awful
Terrible
This is my pass to say WHATEVER tf I wanna say about the mess she releases so I don't wanna hear SHIT! Baby mama is a mess of a song btw

I feel like she should choose her battles wisely. It?s her right to feel that she deserves more, now that is questionable, but her right nonetheless. HOWEVER, blasting Netflix publicly and asking everyone to boycott them,  only sabotages herself. There is such a thing as moving in silence. I bet you there have been so many power plays behind the scenes with black actors and the like that we just don?t know about, because they chose to move in silence.

Has Monique even had an HBO special?  Not being funny, forreal. I'd say a million at the most but I could see Netflix wanting to test the waters and offering 500k. Maybe if it's successful we can bargain in the future

Vonc bby I get it. But have u seen any of the articles on how much money Netflix throws away yearly. 1 million would've be a drop in the bucket for them. 1 million for a comedian thats been in the game for 25+ years and has an Academy Award? More than that...IS ACTUALLY FUNNY!

The black viewership alone it would've gotten would've been enough to warrant that kinda payday. After her comments on Tyler, Oprah, etc...WE would've tuned in.
exactly
n

No one is disputing that 500K is low though. But to be comparing her to Dave and saying she deserves millions more is pushing it
Let this go, I see y'all haven't anything better to do than to rehash the same points. I do my think this lady wanted 20 million. She feels she deserves more than 500k and I fucking agree. That's whites gonna continue treating y'all however, and y'all will deal lmao.

waita min cuz lemme put my lil mess in here
comment if u 'gree or not & if u use me... :ohwow: :youready:

....but cuz see...I really wanna side with her for this bc the 500k is imo insulting but I can't think of one logical defense.
..
She's called out some of the biggest names in entertainment. Netflix taking a chance on her at all is big in itself. She hasn't done anything hugely relevant or successful since Precious(?) which overshadowed by the drama that followed. And at the end of the day she IS a niche comedian still. At least compared to Chapelle, Rock and Amy. They have garnered interest/success from both mainstream and other smaller groups. Can't say the same for Mo. Now you want one of the few major players that was interested in your brand to be boycotted in the name of racial/gender injustice? Sis, its just business! gorl..
!!!!!!!! and now she just damaged a relationship with NetFlix for GOOD.  Never slam doors shut like this on yourself when it could?ve been a simple ?alright, we think we can do better but we appreciate you for reaching out?

CALL up HBO who you?ve built a nice new relationship with and tell them about the NetFlix offer and see if they can do better if they like your ideas for a special. :uhh: it?s quite simple really.

Her husband ?fighting? for her is stupid because I?m almost certain he doesn?t conduct himself professionally based on the language she?s quoted him using in these meetings and conference calls.
Wow, something that makes sense spewed from your keyboard.

Can't believe some of y'all black bitches want her to echo soundlessly in the shadows

Netflix should've offered more. Period.
what has Monique done in 5 years? Hell even 10

I don't think anyone wants to be unemployed

You can take a stand without being broke, but she's not even taking a consistent, worthy stand

Right, and let?s be honest...nobody is going to stop using Netflix just because Monique told us to.

Would she have boycotted had this been Loni Love getting an extremely low offer and herself getting what she wants.

ya rock muh world.

I saw her on TMZ last night talking about how she's the most decorated/celebrated comedian or whatever. I dunno what her husband been putting in her corn flakes but it certainly made her full of herself.

Is she crazy? I would love to hear Whoopi?s take on that.

ya rock muh world.

I was willing to hear her out but she's clearly just gassed as hell.

I love that she stands up for herself and that she stands for SOMETHING. And she's always been that way, even going back to Charm School ..hell, even Showtime @ The Apollo,  I can find clips where she mounted soapboxes in regards to Black unity, progress, etc.  So this isn't some act she's putting on

She just needs to have more realistic expectations. She keeps referring to her "resume", but Netflix is looking at numbers.
