Besides Black Gay Men, Black Women are the most oppressed people i have ever seen.

being "black" is considered wrong everywhere, hun. you're judged at face value but if you're gay you're able to hide it and let's be hon', a gay white man can easily get a job position before a straight black man so why are you even trying to compare RACE to SEXUALITY!?!? you're doing more harm for yourself than good cause it totally discredits the black people that are gay.

the fact that a man can hide his sexuality goes both ways though. A black man never has to explain why he is black, or why it is okay to be so, he just is, and people do not argue with it, cause it is self-explanatory. For a gay man however - being that he does have the choice to disclose his tea - he will always have to live under the huge psychological pressure and the the mental burden of whether to reveal his true sentiments or not. That is a huge burden you carry all throughout your childhood that should not be neglected in this discussion.

Furthermore racism is far gone from mainstream opinion. Personally - especially in scenarios of growing up, being in school etc. - gay bashing is way more intense, than racially motivated bullying. No kid can say I am racist and be cool or respected, while blurting out homophobically discriminatory statements are mostly very socially acceptable. It is important for homophobia to lose acceptence and coolness points, especially with the kids and be as frowned upon, as racism is.

With that being said in many ways, being gay is more difficult and painful than being non-white. It is not that simple, to say racism is worse than homophobia.

We live in a heteronormative society, which is how we all got here. Anytime you do something that deviates from the norm you'll be subject to scrutiny.  You guys have got to stop expecting gay to become mainstream, be secure in your actions and surround yourself with people who accept you. 

I think a lot of you are forgetting how far lgbt people have come, there was once a time you were relegated to being in a basement with fear of being raided by the police, and now you new age punks are considering suicide over twitter commentary. Those out gay men living during the 70's - 90's were so brave.  Now it seems like the fight is more so for the scared DL men to be able to come out without any fear of rejection.
