I'm all for loving who you love. Interracial relationships are beautiful if they are based on true love and a genuine connection, as opposed to a fetish or "dating up".

There are fucked up people in every race. I just think as Blacks sometimes we are judged more harshly than others, even by our own. It almost comes off as a way to validate not dating other Black people.

And having a direct negative experience with someone of your own race, or someone of another race. Or multiple negative experiences.

I don't even know what my reaction would be. But it certainly wouldn't be "ignoring you! Paying it dust!" I know that for sure. So you can't really compare an indirect experience to a direct one.

I'm not disregarding his experience. The stuff we go through as kids definitely shapes who we are as adults. I just think sometimes it's easy for Blacks to be judged collectively while Whites get to be individuals. I'm sure he's had negative experiences with White people at some point in his life, especially being from Georgia, but I could be wrong.

It just seems like a convenient excuse to say "I'm not into Black girls/guys".
