She's saying that Netflix asked her to not do shows while she works on their special.  I guess they don't want her giving away the jokes or something. And she's saying that could take up to a couple years.  It's not beneficial to her.

They're not OBLIGATED.  It's the entertainment industry.  But they should offer her more than 1/26th of Amy Schumer based in her resume, her name, and her draw.  She may be less popular than Amy Schumer right now, but I don't think it's 1/26th of the popularity that Amy Schumer has.

And also comparing it to a regular work place is not a good comparison because there are equal opportunity laws in a regular work place to not wage discriminate against people's race.  In the entertainment industry, people's earnings are more individually based.  But it's pretty well known that women tend make significantly less and blacks do, too. The network or studio might think "Black women only get so many opportunities, anyway, so I don't have to pay them as much." And it 's a business decision, but it still doesn't make it right, IMO.

That's not what the contract said.  She can definitely continue to work.  She just can't do the material she does for Netflix.  A comedian should be able to come up with an hour of exclusive content. NO ONE ELSE is paying Monique 500k for standup. Do y'all understand that?  This is the entertainment business. People are in bidding wars and that's how they get bigger and better deals. How do u expect Netflix to pay her millions when literally NO ONE is even matching their 500k offer

Oh, okay. Because the list y'all keep showing for Monique does not include her award shows she's hosted, The Queens of Comedy tour, where she was the headliner, her talk show, etc.  It only showed movies.
