I can?t really recall the last time Ashanti made a significant impact on pop culture.

Guinness Book of World Records says hello.

Ashanti had a bigger peak tho.

Goodies is still bigger than anything Ashanti has ever done

Foolish says hello. It spent 10 weeks at No.1 :dead:

But who is listening to foolish today? Goodies still gets play

,

Foolish still resonate with audiences around world.  :dead:

So does goodies

And the only reason anyone talks about foolish is when it's reference to "one more chance"

Goodies started a damn movement! Crunk and B  anyone ?
Everyone was stealing princess' sound

That Crunk & B movement was started by Usher. Goodies was just a rip off.  :dead: And that movement became stale after a year or so but dew.  :dead:
:dead: :dead: :dead:

actually Usher ?Yeah? put crunk n b on the map
and the other part is really your uneducated guess

They were both released in the same year usher in Jan of 2004  and Ciara in June.

I'm sure they both were recorded about the same time it's hard to say who lolz
so Usher?s came first and was the #1 hit for 12weeks
HE put the sound on the map and Ci followed

If we?re talking overall impact on music, I?d say the pendulum still swings in Ciara?s direction. She had signature dances and repopularized the matrix move. I?d say she was also one of the front runners to do the whole alter ego thing with her 3rd album.

I can?t really recall the last time Ashanti made a significant impact on pop culture.

We gotta be able to DEFINE legacy in order to participate and move forward in this discussion

A legacy encompasses more than a music career. That's not where the buck stops for Ci

FlowerBomb

Ashanti went toe to toe with Bey for 2 seconds :dead:
She def' saw more musical success, sales and accolades

No shade but those partnerships Ciara did aren't really noteworthy or iconic :dead:

Okay holding the number one and two spots on the hot 100...which is a remarkable feat, but how long ago was that? Janet said it best, what have you done lately?

I know some of y?all are saying current relevancy isn?t the topic, but doesn?t that relate to pop culture contributions overall??

there's like 17 topics on this

I remember arguing against shans a few times  :kii:

jtwoeleven

So, to the ones in here who don?t like Ciara, are you all admitting that today in 2018, that Ciara is more relevant than Ashanti?
