There?s no guarantee that a major black artist would be splitting votes with an India arie or something just because they?re black

I?m sure that?s their line of thinking, but that won?t always be the case. It?s a good look for those that are rarely nominated either way

The Grammy's are a mess and just continue to lose more credibility every year. They elimate male/female categories, but expand the nominees to 8.  Also, most of the Best New Artis nominees hardly make any impact and disappear only to never be heard from again, so why bother expanding that category to 8? I just hope this is an effort to nominate better quality music, since it has mainly turned into a popularity contest.

Take into consideration the changing industry. Music comes at a significantly faster pace, and the amount has increased tenfold so this makes sense to me.

I dont mind it. And they always try to make those categories diverse. Album of the Year - one country, one black, one soul, one this, one that. I'm sure there have been times when they wanna choose a 5th one out of the HUNDREDS of submissions they get, but just throws in one to appease the masses. I dont mind the addition. Now if I see the nominations and it lack sdiversity (all men like the last time for AOTY), I'll fume then.
