You posted something about popular tags from 2014 that's irrelevant to NSFW blogs

The point is people go to Tumblr for porn more than any other category (sports, music, film, books etc)

Rather than get rid of child porn and pornbots they ban it all.  :dead: :uhh:

And now they're about crash and burn.

Tumblr is where I go for all my edgy anime, bara mess when I?m in that cartoon mood

:oof:

All that is gonna be snatched

That's what some people don't seem to understand. Tumblr is banning "all adult content" not just porn. This will impact fashion, music, film, sports, art and everything else on the website.

I'm scrolling down my dashboard now and they're deleting so much shit that has nothing to do with porn and is perfectly SFW.

Adult content was hidden from searching and turned off my default. How do u accidentally stumble upon it?

g

People's posts are literally being flagged as "explicit" content" when it isnt even remotely explicit

And they're already banning porn blogs

Do you even use Tumblr? This is giving me "show me a soundscan link" all over again.

And there's more to the story:

They were removed from the Apple app store because of mess involving porn.

It literally says this in the OP.

QuoteThis is an issue that greatly impacts Tumblr, given that its blogging network is actually composed of a lot of porn. In fact, according to website analytics service SimilarWeb, ?adult? content is the top category that drives direct clicks to Tumblr?s desktop site, accounting for 20.53% of clicks, compared with the next-largest referring category, ?books and literature,? which drove just 7.61% of clicks.

Le sigh

So like we said, this is the end of Tumblr

:kii:
bye Tumblr! LMFAO!

I'm screaming

Between them banning the mess that gets them the most traffic and then popular blogs who post safe for work content getting caught in the crossfire because of the new policy.....

Tumblr is DONE

Opinions from TUMBLR users (the people who keep the site afloat)

And that link YOU posted said the app ban isn't the cause for this.

You literally don't even know what's going on. You just came in without knowing anything posting outdated receipts that don't apply to current Tumblr.

The study found that although 22% of users are actually there for porn, 28% are accidentally exposed to it.

More of their users are accidentally exposed to porn than those who want to see it.

It makes sense to get rid of it if 78% of the platform is non-NSFW.

22% is still considerable, but they're not wiping away their core users.

This move may actually bring a lot of their core users back. I'm sure many of them stopped coming once they saw BBC mess while they're looking for gardening photos. :omf:
these stats mean nothing when matched against the hundreds of thousands of users reblogging & hearting all types of content, including the NSFW stuff. They started flagging shit as explicit last year but slowly gave up on it because of the excess of pornographic content, which came in a variety of ways. There are hundreds of thousands pornographic posts that are unaccounted for. They gon get the shock of their life in the coming weeks

And you didn't even know that there were exceptions to the "adult content" that will be restricted - you assumed that fashion/art posts will be banned as well
