This reminds me of when I was  in elementary school and the  teachers would place me and the other black girls at the same table so we could watch that Time Traveling MLK cartoon.

It could be that the Black kids naturally wanted to be around one another and hang out together in class often.

Could be a completely innocent photo.

I never attended a predominately White school as a child but I'd imagine that it feels something like what I feel at work when it comes to the predominate White staff there vs. the smaller group of POC staff.
Naturally I gravitate to the POC's. Yes it is some form of segregation but it's where I am more comfortable and can be more of myself.

Hopefully the parents can find a school where there is more variety. That seems to be the issue here. The picture just emphasizes that IMO.

Bullying that stems from racism and colorism even starts early in elementary many times.... So if you really think that it takes a kid to grow into a teenager to realize that some people have more in common with them than others, or to spot when someone is different...I think you're mistaken.

Even so, it still would fall on the educators. They should be encouraging them to sit among their peers.

I feel like you?re absolving the teachers completely.

But you know...it is probably for the best. Teach em early to steer clear of those white devils
