Barry and Blackground was horrible for a lot of artists Aaliyah, Tank, Jojo, Toni etc
It?s no surprise they slacked on getting physical singles for Aaliyah to chart
It probably had a cost that they wanted to avoid

Worst label ever, tbh.

They got her that cheap plane that killed her.  :overit:  :fuming:

We probably don't care much about these artists.... but songs like "Don't Speak" by No Doubt, was #1 (Hot 100 Airplay) for months, but never charted on the Hot 100 due to no physical CD release.

Top 5 fav songs ever ugh
!!!!! Speaking of haunting melodies ...  omfg

Cheap as fuck.

I understand that traveling is expensive -- if you look at Aaliyah's schedule, sis FLEW a LOT during those months -- within two days alone she flew to NYC for 106, flew out to Miami, flew to the Bahamas, and there's CREW to pay for too, etc.  But safety, over everything >

Sis was flying like how someone hops into their car.

Blackstreet's "Don't Leave Me" .... you couldn't tell me this wasn't at least a Top 10 Hot 100 hit.... nope.
No physical CD.

:everythingok:

And there was clear intent for Blackstreet to do that with "Don't Leave Me"

Months prior they had a #1 (Hot 100) hit with "No Diggity" -- which had a physical CD.

Another LEGEND... without charting on the Hot 100... no CD release...

Most the 90?s r&b songs wasn?t that big of hits we just didn?t know cause it wasn?t any internet

In some ways I feel like we?re slowly going back to the days where we don?t care anymore because we?re looking for music elsewhere than on the charts. Also because how ridiculous the rules, changes and shit are now these days.
