Pam was always single in the show really. I mean yea Jerome wanted her or whatever but Pam wasn't like fawned over on that show. There was definitely colorism all in play

Yeah she was the lead, playing the role of a ghetto mom in the hood who loved yelling loudly, threatening her kids with violence and walking into the streets with a bonnet on her head to get groceries.

I mean if you ask Tichina directly she'll definitely tell you about how and why she was cast in certain roles.

But she didn't/doesn't take things personally. She simply took it as a business and found a way to work within the the confinements she was automatically given based on her appearance. That's why she's been so successful IMO. Didn't waste too much time whining about something that was/is completely out of her control.
