There's a difference between social racism and systemic racism. This country is based on systemic racism (and social) in the form of government policies, court decisions, etc
A black person's racism against whites can't hurt much of anything besides their feelings, but who cares about that? Lol
I agree but what are you saying exactly is my question. How can Black ppl ignore oppression that they currently deal with to perceive white ppl fairly?
How can you remove oppression from racism when its literally the foundation of it?
No one gave a shit about race until WHITE ppl made it a qualifier of humanity.
You're right. I think some black people ignore oppression because they fall for the okie doke. They listen to affluent black boomers who are set economically in life parrot these conservative talking points that do us no good. "Don't ask for handouts, pull yourself up by the bootstraps, don't promote that victim mentality".
They also look at outlier black celebrities like Oprah, Beyoncé, Steve Harvey, the Obamas, etc and think that their individual positions are a reflection of the black community overall when they're not.
Black people need to get serious about the reality of our position in this country because if not, we're gonna essentially be taken off the board in this game.
