Well for one it eliminates a major competitor per se. I think they'll keep Hulu to distribute some of their more adult themed content that wouldn't be appropriate for their bubble gum platform.

But based on the shows they canceled from Netflix to re-distribute through Disney, it didn't seem like it was going to be a G-rated service..

Brilliant move on their end

They'll probably offer a package deal where you can have both for a certain rate.

Disney is focusing exclusively on the US with their lounge and hulu is a major well established player in the US market.

I gotta read up on the plan because I can see this backfiring. They'll literally have 3 pointless streaming services.
