If we're talking about R&B
That's literally what's in the fckn title :dead:

The lack of comprehension is troubling. The question was very specific.
Mary did more for the health and advancement of R&B. Inspired a whole generation of R&B artists that followed. Male and female.

"Inspired Kelly Clarkson!"

Bitch, is Kelly R&B?  :kii:

What I have said is that MC's influence is more widespread.

Here you go talking out your ass again. The long list of rock and country artists that have come out and stated they were inspired by mary. Someone like Shirley Manson wouldn't be caught dead listening to a mariah mess  :plzstop:

I know some might disagree but I never really saw Mariah as R&B.. She just don't have that grit and authenticity of soul.

People really try to keep Mary in a box but truly have no ideas of her impact across genres. I'm never knocking Mariah "Whistleblower" Carey, but there is a reason why MJB is the ONLYYYY artist with a Grammy in R&B, Rap, Pop, and Gospel.

That's because Mariah was never R&B. She was a Pop artist who desperately wanted to be liked and  respected in the Hip Hop & R&B lane....she envied Mary for the acceptance that she had amongst her peers. That's why you saw a huge shift in Mariah music AFTER MJB...she wanted out of that Pop world that she was boxed into.

I'm only telling you what Mariah herself has admitted. Let me find the video...
