I've been having this debate within my little clique. And i wonder where y'all stand on this.

Here are some of the points that were raised

1.  Nobody gave or gives a fuck about mashonda. Its not like her and swizz were a brad and jen mess. As wrong as alicia was I don't feel that was the catalyst in her demise. It was her holier than thou act that clive crafted for her. Same way he did it for whitney. But we still rocked with whitney after her messy truth was revealed. So why not alicia?

2. Comparing alicia to angelina. My argument was that angelina always been a rebel / bad girl. Stealing a man was right up her alley 

3. Someone else said did her image take a hit or did the music just become boring after she parted ways with Krucial? Girl On Fire and Unthinkable were still big hits fot her, but were the albums still up to par with her 1st 3? I don't think I even made through the snippets of her last one.

4. Another person said "In Common" was actually a really good song. Most of us agree...but at the same time it doesn't fit into where radio is now. No reason why alicia can't still push out hits in a time where ella, sza, queen naija etc are lashing on mainstream urban radio.

What do you think is the issue?

I honestly think that besides the folks who live on the internet don't even know of the Mashonda situation. And the ones who DO blow it out of proportion. So it doesn't have an effect on her chart performance. Every major star eventually falls. She had a great run, it was just her time

It's the music. While I still enjoy a good amout of it, it definitely doesn't hit like it used to.

Upon further research, Norah had a whole diamond album and won a shit ton of Grammys and they were around the same time. They had similar hype hun.

Thats like saying norah n britney have the same audience
