Yeah

We were taught to be docile (religion, colonialism, slavery)

I just don't think it's fair to negate someone else's process of bereavement by shouting about what "we" would do

kinda rude and tactless tbh

is this supposed to be an insult

Because those are my middle names

I'm not trying to police how anyone grieves either. I'm sure it's very personal to them, it's just painful to see black folks always take the moral high ground and get shit for it.

Whoever said we dance between the line of humanity and self hate put it perfectly.

It is sick how these white 'christians' used the Bible to prevent slaves from committing suicide. Religion was used as a powerful weapon. And still people avoid confrontation because they have to act forgiving 'like Jesus' or they hold on to that 'Who am I to judge?'. Sometimes I hear people on tv talk about their faith and the first thing they say is "I'm not perfect". If a religion makes you feel insecure or if you are scared an old man with a grey beard is constantly judging you and your actions I don't want it. The Bible will always be a book, written by people and probably altered and censored. The symbolic meanings about love are most valuable imo, people get so lost in details.

intriguing

whats ur thoughts on christianity being THROWN on the same plate as those hog maws during slavery?  :disgusted:

I dont see a problem with it
Ur already enslaving ppul.and violating their human rights telling them its okay because of a few out if context bible verses its not the worst of it

As you see there are numerous interpretations of the bible which resulted in

Catholic/islam
Apostolic
Baptist
Pentecostal
Mormon
7th day adventis
Jehova
Non denominationals

So at some point u must have a personal relationship with god and how the bible fits ur life and which way u want to worship

If u have someone in control of ur daily life
Their beliefs and manipulations ARE their interpretation of the word as well
We know the bible doesnt support that but what choice do we have?

Your mind is always free even if ur actions do not follow suit
The devil used the white mans abuse of the bible to get u to turn away from it and it did not work some found an alternative way to cope (islam, atheist ) but for themost part blacks found their way back even if there are some glitches

The devil didn't do anything, the devil is a concept I don't get. These white slave owners used the Bible to keep slaves alive and obedient. The real evil lives in people. If the devil is alive I bet he is just chilling because human beings are doing the work for him.

Everyone acts different and more power to them if it helps them heal.
But a hug? Personally I don't even give my coworkers hugs.
:omgwatshappening:
A handshake would probably even be too much, maybe I could do 'ok I forgive ya but leave me the fuck alone' from the other side of the room  :calmdownsis:
