Just let people do them.

And stop judging everything black and thinking there's some deep rooted issue.
Can you link me to the post where I judged anyone?

g

You're "heartbroken" and "disappointed" because they wear colored contacts and automatically categorized them with other black women who've been brainwashed to do things to fit a certain standard of beauty.

Well Euro brainwashing of our community is a real thing so its perfectly logical to arrive at that conclusion. But how is their BRAINWASHING their own fault? This is where I am finding a problem with your word "judging". How can I comfortably judge a victim?

Disappointment and heartbreak aren't feelings which stem from judgement. At least in my case. But you keep finding a way to tie it to judgement, when I am TELLING you that I still love Kenya and Naomi regardless.

It's like you're forcing their disownment for the sake of your argument.

Meh

I put it along the line w/ colored wigs. Most people just love to dabble in different mess.

I never think of "trying to fit beauty standards! sellout!" when I see a person of color wearing contacts.

I agree to an extent, but when someone wears them practically 24/7 and then
tries to give the impression that they're real. That's when I see it as an issue.

Like, Kenya was on Wendy's radio show a while back and one of the guys
said he thought she wore contacts and she took offense.

It's like finding out Toni had been using a vocal enhancing tool for her entire career. Or that GHan has other people to do her harmonies. I'd definitely be heartbroken and disappointment because I would feel DECEIVED. Will I still pick up that alber though? :justabit: Of fucking course.

Cuz at the end of the day I still love what I see and hear overall. Regardless of how it arrives to that end product or result.

But who isn't a little hurt or disappointment when they feel like they've been tricked or deceived? Kenya certainly passes off those contacts as her own. She never goes around saying they're fake, or used for enhancements. But mess.

So she lied about wearing colored contacts. That makes her a liar I guess?

Does it mean she's subconsciously trying to look like Becky instead of Keisha?

That radio show was pure mess though. I'm sure he didn't just nicely ask if they were contacts.

That's what you're not getting.

Sometimes these things can be so deeply embedded into our psyches that we really know not we do. That's why it is important not to judge anyone. Instead understand.

For some reason, these women think that lighter eyes -- green and blue -- are better. Are prettier. Does this mean they want to be Becky? I don't think so. Kenya will tell you in a minute that she is a chocolate princess. And I love that about her.

This is why I will never ATTACK her and say "you self hatin' bitch!" That makes no sense, because if even if she hates herself (which btw is something I NEVER accused her of) its nothing of her own fault. I would never look to the VICTIM. I'd look to the media, I'd look to our history in this country.

Why do you want me to judge her so badly?
