The show just aired the pilot this past week. It's still fresh in everyone's minds. I think the audience or those who are skeptical simply want to see the characters and the storytelling fleshed out a bit better. The first scene was the president and the First Lady beating the shit out of each other like some damn WWE match. The promo's that we're leading up to it, didn't really reflect the outcome in my opinion.
