People have whole apartments in other states on a $15/hour wage. Paying $500-600 for an apartment in a relatively decent area. It's just not realistic up here. Not even to rent a room in someone else's apartment.

You should definitely be proud of the place that made you who you are. If not for the hood and rough upbringing, Serena, Venus, JayZ and a million other people wouldn't even be known. There's a level of hustle and work ethic that only the streets can bring out of someone Tbh
