Naomi is wrong as per usual.... but I thought black history month was for all black people, regardless if they're from America.

Are we only allowed to celebrate African Americans?

:damselindistress:
thats what she essentially said  :dead:

You're wrong

QuoteThis month we celebrate and recognize ALL people of color around the globe; across all generations, industries and significance.  Our history and appreciation is one

This is a lot different than saying "Black History Month is for all black people, even if you're not African American"

It was started specifically for African Americans to honor the contributions made in USA history but honestly with this being the time on inclusion I think it has just evolved to include black people everywhere. I honestly didn't know there was a BHM in other countries.
We've been celebrating it here since the late 80s
I think anywhere in the world where the African diaspora is noted, it's celebrated in some fashion

Why are they taking this as some kind of AA erasure? :uhh:

Anyway, I took it as her saying it's a time for the entire Black diaspora to celebrate our heroes. Not y'all Americans need to acknowledge us! :diddraispoot:

But she didn't say all black people around the globe, she said "ALL PEOPLE OF COLOR around the globe" which includes a whole swath of non black folks, many of whom we all know regularly practice their own anti blackness. The celebration of our history, no matter where you land in the diaspora, shouldn't be clumped in with other ethnic groups.

We can play Blue's Clues all day long about what she might mean or might be trying to say, but what she actually said is worlds apart from these explanations you fags are coming up with.

dmdkk! do you really think she meant Asians, Latinos Arabs ect?
Or maybe it was a poor choice of words?

You seem to be the perfect translator hun

You tell me

just my opinionata on it!
we only get 28 days, don't really wanna spend it being counter-productive and dissecting every black empowerment statement

It started in the USA in the 20s I believe and was changed to a month in the 60s... But I can see why it other countries would have it I just never thought about any other country needing it 🤦🏾‍♂️ but oppression has/is happened to black people around the world so it makes sense
Eh... 🤷🏾‍♂️
